COUNTRY MUSIC is DRIVING MUSIC
In 1980 I was in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina visiting my sister and her husband Jack Newton, an Australian professional golfer. He was due to play in The Masters at Augusta National and I needed a car to drive to Augusta, Georgia.
Mack, a good friend of his, lent me a huge and wonderful pale blue convertible Cadillac with a white top to make the drive there and back.
During the drive, with the top down, the sun shining and the radio on, I ran through the local radio stations and of course, most of them were playing Country music.
Now, with the volume at full blast as I enjoyed the old back roads rather than the Interstate, I fell in love with Country music and discovered it was perfect Driving Music.
What a trip that was, I walked the course every day with my sister and to top it off, Jack finished second in The Masters that year, to his good friend Seve Ballesteros.
And that good old Southern hospitality drew me into spending many more years living and building a successful business in the USA.
